THE PINK CARDIGAN
In 2008 my nan was diagnosed with dementia, this comic was based on our visits to the care home.
It was heartbraking to see someone so strong and independant reduced to being totally helpless. She didn’t remember me and her moods would change quickly between being totally pissed off and then pleading to be taken home, although she had no idea who we were or where she lived.
My nan had no short term memory but on this particular visit she was convinced her pink cardigan had been stolen...
